Closed Loop Fashion (CLF) was in Jakarta this week for a series of strategic meetings, kindly hosted at the H&M Country Office, under the Circular Fashion Partnership (CFP) Indonesia policy activities, marking a key milestone in strengthening the regulatory and collaborative foundations for Indonesia’s circular textile transition.
Working closely with national lead partner Rantai Tekstil Lestari (RTL), discussions centered on the development of a multi-stakeholder platform designed to convene actors across the textile value chain. Envisioned as a centralized hub, it will integrate a stakeholder directory, ecosystem mapping, policy briefs, regulatory updates, and case studies of circular textile businesses into one accessible space.
Importantly, these case studies will provide a balanced perspective, highlighting not only successes but also lessons learned from initiatives that encountered challenges, thereby emphasizing transparency, business viability, and measurable impact.
The platform will also serve as an Innovation, Collaboration Space as well as a Marketplace, allowing stakeholders to connect, share solutions, build partnerships, and develop new circular business opportunities.
Beyond knowledge sharing, the platform will act as a structured forum for policy advocacy, enabling industry-government dialogue and aligning circular business practices with emerging regulations. Additionally, discussions addressed the platform’s financial structure and long-term sustainability, including how it will continue operating beyond the phase-out of the National Circular Fashion Partnerships (NCFP).

The mission also included an alignment session with the UNEP InTex programme, joined by implementation partners Resilience Development Initiative (RDI) and National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), to harmonize efforts between the two initiatives. The coordination aims to reduce duplication, reinforce synergies, and maximize collective impact as InTex commences its activities in Indonesia.
Together, these efforts signal a maturing ecosystem, one where enhanced industry coherence and policy alignment are increasingly driving Indonesia’s circular textile agenda forward.
This activity is part of the Circular Fashion Partnership (CFP) Indonesia program, funded by the H&M Foundation and participating brands, led by the Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) with Rantai Tekstil Lestari (RTL) as National Lead, and implemented by Closed Loop Fashion, Reverse Resources & Circle Economy.
