As part of the Circular Fashion Partnership (CFP) Indonesia program, a dynamic three-day Training of Trainers (ToT) event hosted by our partners Circle Economy (CE) and STTT Politeknik University was recently held in Bandung, where Closed Loop Fashion supported through a key input session. The event brought together key stakeholders from across the textile value chain to strengthen circular economy practices within Indonesia’s garment and textile industry.
Closed Loop Fashion in partnership with ESITH Casablanca hosted a one-day training to support the development of a polyester textile-to-textile recycling ecosystem in Morocco. Held under the Invest for Jobs initiative by German BMZ and implemented by GIZ Morocco with the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the session focused on circular economy principles, PITW textile waste management, recycling technologies and EU regulations. The training brought together key partners to lay the groundwork for a scalable, circular textile supply chain.
Closed Loop Fashion took part in two key roundtables at the Global Fashion Summit: Copenhagen Edition 2025, which was held under the overarching theme "Barriers and Bridges." At the first closed roundtable focused on Vietnam and Cambodia, we highlighted the role of post-industrial waste aggregators and the need to meaningfully integrate the informal sector into future supply chain planning. During the GCFF Steering Committee meeting, we helped shape strategic priorities to advance circularity in global production regions. These discussions reinforced our belief that inclusive, cross-sector collaboration is essential to building resilient, circular systems.
Our participation in the first-ever Textiles Recycling Expo in Brussels marked an energising moment for the circularity community, offering a glimpse into the growing momentum behind textile-to-textile recycling solutions. We were proud to see our "Polyester Recycling in the Moroccan Textile Industry" project featured on a panel discussion, highlighting the power of collaboration between public and private partners to drive localised circular solutions. The event reinforced the urgent need for aligned action across the value chain and we return with renewed motivation to keep advancing circularity in the textile sector.
Indonesia’s textile & apparel industry is taking bold steps toward a circular future. At a recent Jakarta Focus Group Discussion (FGD) hosted by Rantai Tekstil Lestari (RTL), stakeholders across the textile value chain exchanged knowledge and jointly explored actionable strategies to scale post-industrial waste recycling. Our founder Marina Chahboune presented key insights on transforming waste into value through localized ecosystems.
Closed Loop Fashion is proud to participate in the Cambodia Global Textile Summit 2025 last week in Phnom Penh, where industry leaders, government representatives and key stakeholders gathered to discuss the future of sustainability and circularity in Cambodia’s textile sector as well as the official launching of Circular Fashion Partnership Cambodia.
Closed Loop Fashion recently participated in the 4th International Conference on Knowledge Based Textiles in Faisalabad, Pakistan. Marina Chahboune joined a panel on global textile trends, discussing challenges like sustainability, recycling, and the impact of ultra-fast fashion. She also delivered a keynote on the circular economy in textiles, highlighting progress in waste management, technological advancements, and the need for industry collaboration.
Closed Loop Fashion, together with Decathlon and on behalf of the German Development Agency (GIZ), kicked-off a project to transform Morocco's polyester textile waste into high-quality material input. Beginning with waste assessments at partner factories, the initiative will implement advanced recycling systems and promote a circular economy in the fashion industry.
Closed Loop Fashion, together with our partner Nizam, recently visited PURE LOOP, a subsidiary of the EREMA Group in Austria, to investigate scalable solutions for recycling textile and plastic waste generated from the production of humanitarian aid items, such as blankets and tents. This collaboration builds upon previous successful pilot trials, utilizing PURE LOOP's advanced recycling technology to promote the creation of sustainable blankets and disaster relief tents.
Our Founder recently discussed the importance of effective post-industrial textile waste management with Texpertise, a knowledge platform run by Messe Frankfurt. She highlighted how CLF’s Textile Waste Management Standard (TWMS) is transforming the industry.
We are proud to announce that Closed Loop Fashion's Indonesian case study is featured in the Upstream Circularity Playbook. As the only Indonesian case study, we share insights on circularity practices and our dedicated standard for textile waste management. Through our partnership with the Circular Fashion Partnership Indonesia, we aim to manage 9,000 metric tonnes of textile waste in 2025, advancing circularity in the textile sector.
CLF’s Marina Chahboune joined forces with industry leaders from textiles, packaging, aviation, and maritime at AlterCOP 29 in Singapore to discuss the challenges and opportunities of building circular supply chains. The panel highlighted the need for cross-sectoral collaboration and innovative solutions to drive a sustainable future.
