Closed Loop Fashion has supported the European Union (EU) funded flagship program on Triangular Co-operation ADELANTE in Argentina and Brazil with capacity building on the implementation of circular economy practices and sustainability within the textile and apparel industry.
The objective of the ADELANTE program is to foster horizontal relations between Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) countries and of these with Europe, while encouraging the exchange of knowledge to provide solutions aimed at the sustainable development of the region in the framework of the SDGs.
Closed Loop Fashion has conducted a several week long field trip to Argentina & Brazil in order to assess the current set- up of the local industry and thus defining future-proof opportunities.
Factory visits and consulting meetings with local brands and manufacturer have been conducted throughout the visit as well as capacity building activities. In the framework of the project, CLF has conducted a conference ‘Economia Circular en la industria textile y de la moda’ at The National Industrial Technology Institute (INTI) and a practical workshop on ‘Design Out Waste – Tools to optimize business practices towards sustainability and circularity’ at The Argentine Federation of Textile and Related Industries FAIIA Programa Crecer in Buenos Aires
